Sterling police investigating assault in Eberly Park

Police in Sterling, Illinois, are looking for information after a reported attack in a city park.

A man told police he was walking in Eberly Park on November 5, 2016, around 8:15 p.m., from the wooded area of the park to his parked car. The man said someone came up from behind and hit him in the head with an unknown object.

The man was hurt, but was treated on scene for his injuries.

Police say this appears to be an isolated incident.
