NEW YORK CITY, New York– Heading into Election Day, a majority of Democrats and Republicans agree on one thing: they’re less proud of America than they were four years ago.
A majority of Americans, 62%, say they’re less proud as a result of the 2016 Election. Only 7% say they’re more proud of the country because of the race.
In 2012, the numbers were much different: 34% said they were more proud of America after the election, while only 12% were less proud. President Barack Obama was up against former Governor Mitt Romney in that election.
