DAVENPORT, Iowa — Most people know October 31st as Halloween, but another holiday shares the date. The Day of the Dead was celebrated at a family fiesta this afternoon at the Figge Museum.

Families decorated sugar skulls, danced to a live mariachi band, and sampled authentic Mexican food to celebrate the traditional Mexican holiday, which honors the lives of lost loved ones.

The fiesta was thrown by the local LULAC Chapter and the group Hola America.
