Galesburg home suffered extensive fire damage

GALESBURG, Illinois — A home in Galesburg has suffered extensive damage after a house fire broke out around 1 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28. Fire fighters were called out to 220 North West Street and found smoke pouring from the first and second floors of the home.

Everyone in the home was able to get out without injury, said the city of Galesburg. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but it appears that the fire originated in the first floor kitchen, says the press release.
