American Airlines plane bursts into flames at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport

CHICAGO — An American Airlines plane caught fire on the tarmac at O’Hare International Airport on Friday, Oct. 28, before takeoff, forcing passengers exit using evacuation slides.

At least six ambulances rushed to the scene.

According to an FAA tweet, the Miami-bound Flight 383 blew a tire before the fire started. One passenger reported hearing what sounded like an explosion.

It's still unclear if there were any injuries.

Commuters at O’Hare are posting photos and videos to social media of the scene.
