A special train traveling through Canada and the United States is making a few stops in the Quad Cities area. The train makes a journey every other year in effort to raise awareness for hunger along the way.
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train pulls into town in front of a crowd and spends about a total of 30 minutes there. During their stop, attendees will hear live holiday-themed music and local food bank officials will speak with the crowd.
The train will make its first stops starting in late November 2016 around Quebec, about a week before reaching the Midwest. It will make its way westward and on arrive in the QC in early December.
Here is the QC area schedule:
- Dec. 2nd – Muscatine: West end of River Side Park at Chestnut Street & Harbor Drive at 7:30 p.m.
- Dec. 3rd – Davenport: Corner of Western Avenue and West River Drive at 1:45 p.m.
- Dec. 3rd – Clinton: East end of Main Avenue, near Sawmill Museum at 4:15 p.m.
- Dec. 3rd – Bellevue: Horizon Lanes & Hall parking lot, 970N Riverview Drive at 6:45 p.m.
- Dec. 3rd – Dubuque: Hawthorne St. Railway Xing corner of Hawthorne St. and Rohmberg Ave at 8:30 p.m.
The performers will be Kelly Prescott and Colin James.
This will be the train’s 18th year in action and people attending are encouraged to bring heart healthy donations to their local food banks. Cash donations are always appreciated, and all contributions stay within the local community. Find more info about the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train here.
