ROCK ISLAND, Illinois — A Rock Island business owner is getting a special honor for supporting the troops.

Tom Steele received a flag that was flown in Afghanistan on September 11. It marks the 15th anniversary of the attack on America, but also symbolizes Steele's ongoing support for the troops.

The flag is a thank-you for taking a colonel fishing before he deployed.

"It just blows my mind that this is happening today. I'm no different than anybody else here. To get this is such an honor. It's unreal," said Steele.

Steele owns a construction company in Rock Island. He plans to place the flag in his front window.
