DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) — The mother of a Dubuque toddler who shot himself in the face has pleaded guilty to two state charges of child endangerment.

The Dubuque Telegraph Herald reports Raven Harris pleaded guilty Monday. The 26-year-old had already been sentenced to five years’ probation on a federal gun charge.

Police say the little boy, Jeremiah Horsley, was playing with the .45-caliber handgun Jan. 3 when it went off.

The bullet went through his right cheek and through his left jaw before entering his left shoulder and exiting the back of his arm.

Harris is set to be sentenced on Nov. 28.

The boy’s father is scheduled to go to trial on child endangerment charges on Oct. 31
