Moline’s Prospect Pond gets stocked for trout fishing season

MOLINE, Illinois -- About 1,000 Rainbow Trout were stocked into Prospect Pond in preparation for the fishing season.

With trout season officially opening Saturday, October 8, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources stocked the pond on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.

Prospect Pond is closed to the public and fishing is not allowed until Saturday.  The park will remain open.

An Illinois fishing license is required to fish at both Riverside Pond and Prospect Pond, according to a statement from the City of Moline.  A trout stamp must also be purchased to fish for trout. Click here for more information.
