Iowans walk together October 5th in effort to become healthiest state

The entire state of Iowa is walking toward a common goal on Wednesday, October 5th, to become the healthiest state in the country.

Each of Iowa’s 99 counties has at least one walk scheduled, according to the Iowa Healthiest State initiative website.  Scott County is one of the counties with the most walks scheduled- 22.  Polk County, where Des Moines is located, has 143. Linn County has 45; and Johnson County has 25.

The organized walks are all registered and will count toward the statewide goal.
