FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. -- Female wrestler Angie Vu, 16, says after missing summer camp because of an injury she was kicked off the wrestling team at Fountain Valley High School, but claims she never received a straight answer as to why she wasn't invited back to the team.
Her mom said Vu was both injured and sick this past summer, forcing her to miss the wrestling summer camp. When Angie returned to the team in the fall, she was told she was no longer on the team.
"They singled her out as the lone female on the team," she said.
Angie says she was "crushed" by the decision, pointing out that she posted a positive record in the female division during the past season.
