BETTENDORF, Iowa-- Mary Orr could be the oldest person living in the Quad Cities.

She celebrated her 109th birthday Monday, September 26, at the Bettendorf Health Care Center.

Orr was born in Missouri in 1907 and lived in the Middletown and Burlington area until 1994, where she worked as a telephone operator for 23 years.

Orr then moved to the Quad Cities to live with her daughter Linda Carrillo, after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure.

"The doctor said she'd probably never ever make the trip from Burlington to the Quad Cities. The doctor that said that has passed and she's still alive," said Carrillo.

Orr's family has thrown her a party every year since her 100th birthday.
