WATERLOO, Iowa -- West of the Quad Cities, where flood waters are taking over some communities, a man got into the river to save a deer.

Video, which was originally posted by KWWL, shows a man jumping into the Cedar River to save the deer.  Onlookers watched Saturday, September 24, 2016 as the deer got caught in the flood waters.  One person called 911, but police said there was nothing they could do.

Harnessed up, one man got into the river and helped push the deer over a barricade to safety.

The deer was later taken out of town to be set free.
