DAVENPORT, Iowa — Authorities are looking for a man who they say escaped from the Davenport Work Release Facility.

Taurus Allen Bryant, age 28, was serving 10 years after being convicted of second degree robbery, according to the Iowa Department of Corrections. Byrant was placed on escape status Saturday, September 24, 2016 when he did not return from work.

According to the department, Bryant had been transferred to work release in July of 2016, roughly seven years after he started serving his sentence.  Work release places offenders in a minimum security setting to allow them to gradually transition from prison into the community.

Bryant is described as being African American with black hair and brown eyes, stands at 6-feet tall and weighs about 260 pounds according to the department. He also has a scar on his face and tattoos on his forearms, hands, and shoulders.

Any information on Bryant’s whereabouts should be reported to the Davenport Police Department or to the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
