MOLINE, Illinois — The National Weather Service has issued a flood alerts for the Quad Cities area.
Storms may bring totals of 2 to 4 inches of rain in northeastern Iowa and area creeks, streams and rivers will likely see rapid rises overnight. That creates the opportunity for waters to flow south into our area.
The Iowa, Wapsipinicon and Mississippi rivers are under a flood alert, issued by the National Weather Service. If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternate route.
The Wapsipinicon River near DeWitt, Iowa is under a flood warning until further notice. At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, the state was 11.5 feet and steady. Flood stage starts at 11 feet.
