Traffic switch starts today for drivers traveling around John Deere Road construction

The construction on John Deere Road is changing course, making a traffic shift for drivers.

MOLINE, Illinois -- The construction on John Deere Road is changing course, making a traffic shift for drivers.

On Wednesday, September 14, 2016, traffic will be moved from the southbound lanes of 41st Street to the newly constructed pavement on the northbound side. Only one lane will be open in each direction.

Crews will continue to work on Coaltown Road near the intersection of 41st Street.

The switch was initially planned for Tuesday, but "due to the rainy weather last week" planners moved the date one day later, according to project manager Eddie Coryn.

Another traffic switch is expected at the end of September.
