Even though temperatures are back into the 80s over the next few days, we've got more downs than ups over the next few weeks.

Looking back through history, the Quad Cities usually sees its last 90 degree temperature in the first week of September. So there's a good chance we're done with the 90s for this season.

But there's plenty of time for 80s! The last 80 degree temperature usually occurs around October 10th. For those of you wondering when we'll get our first frost and freeze, we've got several weeks before that will happen.

I looked at the statistical first day we get down to 37°, when we see patchy frost. That happens, on average, around September 30th. However, the first 32° low temperature occurs October 11th. The first hard freeze (27 degrees) occurs October 26th.
