ROCK ISLAND, Illinois -- Police confirmed that one person died in a crash involving a motorcycle near an entrance of Trinity Medical Center.
The crash happened on 17th Street Monday, September 12, 2016 around 7:50 a.m., according to Deputy Chief Jason Foy. The motorcycle, which had an attached side car, had clipped a parked vehicle, according to Foy.
The motorcycle driver was taken from the scene to the hospital and was pronounced dead.
Road barriers could be seen just south of the facility's 17th Street entrance and the road was closed between 25th Avenue and 31st Avenue. Traffic was being redirected. The roadway reopened around 10:45 a.m.
No further details were being released.
