Motorcyclist and driver collide on Illinois Route 84 in Hanover, Illinois

HANOVER, Illinois — A motorcyclist and a vehicle collided on Illinois Route 84 South when the driver made a turn in front of the motorcyclist, according to authorities.

The crash happened Sunday, September 11, 2016 just before 5 p.m., according to a crash report from the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.  The driver had been heading northbound on the roadway when he made a left turn, colliding with a motorcyclist heading northbound.

The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital, and was released shortly after, the crash report said.  He was wearing a helmet and protective gear.

The driver was uninjured and was cited for failing to yield when turning left.
