BUFFALO, Iowa-- Buffalo Pumpkin Patch owner, Bob Kautz and his team is working hard to get the patch ready for opening week.

But this year they are working even harder to get a good batch of pumpkins from his farm. This year the patch has lost about half its harvest, because of heavy rain fall in the area.  The patch will have to get its pumpkins from another farm, to make sure there are enough for the season.

Kautz said, this will not stop Buffalo Pumpkin Patch from having a good season.

"Life will give you many challenges and this is nothing," he says .

Last year, heavy rains ruined thousands of pumpkin crops in the Midwest.

2016 is expected to be a better year for pumpkin crops.
