Dump truck collides with Pleasant Valley school bus in Bettendorf

BETTENDORF, Iowa — A school bus with elementary students on board was struck by a dump truck coming around a corner, according to a statement from the city.

The crash happened when a dump truck was turning a corner at Middle Road and Indiana Avenue around 3:40 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2016, said the statement from Bettendorf’s Public Information Officer, Lauran Haldeman.

There were 12 students on the bus, and none of them were injured, the statement said.  All the students were released to their parents.

The dump truck driver was cited for control of vehicle.
