Muscatine police looking for man accused of pointing a gun

MUSCATINE — Police are asking the public to help them find a man alleged to have pointed a gun at another person and fleeing on Tuesday.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Robert O. Knapp III, 24. Shortly after 1:20 p.m. on Aug. 9,  Muscatine Police responded to the 500 block of West 4th Street after receiving a call about a subject pointing a gun.  By the time they arrived, the suspect had left the scene.  No injuries or property damage were reported.

Officers conducted an investigation that resulted in the arrest warrant being issued for Knapp III on the charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.  Knapp III is described as 5’09” tall, weighing1 49 pounds and having a shaved head.  Knapp’s last known address is 509 West 3rd Street Apartment B Muscatine Iowa.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the location of Knapp III are encouraged to call 911 or the Muscatine Joint Communication at 563-263-9922 extension 7.  Persons knowing of Knapp’s location should not approach him for he may be armed and dangerous.  Callers may remain anonymous.
