LANCASTER, Wisc. — A man from Lombard, Illinois faces charges following a crash that killed a couple from Moline over the weekend in Grant County, Wisconsin.
Eugeniu Caraus, 27, has been charged with two counts of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. According to police, he was driving a semi Friday morning that ran a stop sign outside of Lancaster on Highway 129, striking a vehicle driven by John Hansen, 69, of Moline. Francine Hansen, 66, was a passenger in the car. Both Hansens were pronounced dead at the scene by the Grant County Coroner.
Caraus faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
