Rock Island Board gets rid of Hope Creek Care Center management company

But there are plans to replace it with an administrator that will oversee Hope Creek.

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois — The Rock Island County Board is getting rid of the management company that runs Hope Creek Care Center.

The board approved the cost cutting move Tuesday, July 19. The company has only been running the center for about a year.

Right now, it's unclear how much the county will save by ending its contract with the management company. But there are plans to replace it with an administrator that will oversee Hope Creek.

"We're coming up with a separation agreement right now that's mutually agreeable to everybody so I think it will be a friendly separation," said Don Johnston, health and human services committee.

The Hope Creek Care Center's advisory committee will continue to help oversee the home.
