BETTENDORF, Iowa — Owners of Hurts Donut Company confirmed that while the Quad Cities is on their radar, it may be a while longer before the 24-hour donut shop opens in the area.

It was previously reported that the shop would be part of a development plan by Build-to-Suit, Inc. for 2255 Falcon Avenue.  WQAD News 8 confirmed the news with community development employees with the city.

However, on Monday, July 18, 2016, Hurts Donut Co. co-owner Kas Clegg said that’s not on the books quite yet.

“(The Quad Cities) is definitely an area we’re interested in,” Clegg said. But at the moment, the company is moving forward with a location in Des Moines. “We have shown interest [in the Quad Cities], but we have made no moves whatsoever.”

Hurts Donut Co. offers specialty, themed and limited time baked goods.

The company has multiple locations, and Clegg says they will open their Des Moines shop within 120 days.

Hurts Donuts opened in Springfield, Missouri followed by shops in Oklahoma and Kansas, reports the Gazette.
