CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) — The trial for a Coralville man accused of knowingly spreading HIV has been pushed back to October.
The trial for Adam Musser, 34, had been set to begin Tuesday. It will now begin on Oct. 25, the Iowa City Press-Citizen reports.
Musser pleaded not guilty last year to five counts of criminal transmission of an infectious disease. Police say Musser had unprotected sex with a woman in May and June in 2015 and had unprotected sex with another woman in June and July that same year. Police say he told both women that he was disease-free.
Iowa Corrections Department records say Musser was sentenced to a 50-year prison term in 2004 after being convicted of knowingly spreading HIV, but he was released on parole in 2012.
