Kroger Deluxe S’mores Ice Cream has been recalled because it may contain peanut residue.
The ice cream may contain peanuts that are not listed on the label according to a statement from the Food and Drug Administration. This recall was issued Saturday, July 9, 2016.
The supplier, Grain Craft, noticed a raw ingredient may have become contaminated with low levels of peanut residue.
The recalled Deluxe S’mores ice cream has UPC code: “0001111001399” and a “Sell By” date of May 20, 2017 & May 23, 2017. It applies to 48 oz tubs.
People who are allergic to peanuts can have severe reactions such as itchy skin, Hives, Nausea, runny nose/congestion, and in some rare cases difficulty breathing, the statement said.
There is no safety issue for consumers who are not allergic to peanuts according to the statement released. No illnesses have been reported at this time.
The product is sold at the following stores: Kroger, Dillons, Baker’s, Gerbes, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, JayC, King Soopers, City market, QFC, Ralphs and Smith’s.
