Moline grad will compete for Jamaica in Rio summer Olympics

MOLINE, Illinois — A Moline graduate will be participating in the Olympic Games in Rio this summer.

Aisha Praught, a long distance runner, was named to the Jamaican Olympic Team yesterday, July 5. She will be competing in the steeplechase, where athletes jump hurdles and small pools of water.

Praught's father is actually Jamaican and she became a Jamaican citizen last year. Last year, she also won the 1500 meter race at the Jamaican Championships by 17 seconds.
