With RAGBRAI less then two months away, 35 members from the RAGBRAI route Inspection Pre-Ride Team inspected the 420 mile route ending at the Muscatine Riverfront.

The purpose of the inspection is to spend one week inspecting the route learning, and teaching the local RIDE RIGHT committees what to do with the information the group has gathered from the inspection.

They rode the route the same day of the week that RAGBRAI will start on later this summer, according to Juskiewicz. Therefore while the group inspected they took a look at traffic patterns as well.

This is the 12th year in a row for RAGBRAI staff and a select group of cyclists to ride the entire route in advance of the event.

RAGBRAI Director T.J. Juskiewicz, Assistant Director Scott Garner and Iowa bicycle coalitions executive director Mark Wyatt are just some of the 35 that inspected the route.

Greg Jenkins, executive of the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the members of the Melon City Bike met the group at the Muscatine county line.

The Inspection Pre-Ride team ended their ride in Eastern Iowa on Friday with their final destination on the Muscatine Riverfront around 3pm for a snack before returning home.

RAGBRAI starts in Glenwood on Saturday July 23rd.
