Update:

Missing 19-year-old Marissa Neff has been found, according to the Clinton Police Department.

“On June 2, 2016 Marissa Neff was located by authorities,” read a statement from the department. “She is alive and well.”

Original report:

CLINTON, Iowa — Community members are searching for a teenager who was reported missing during Memorial Day weekend.

Marissa Neff, age 19, reportedly left home on Saturday afternoon, May 28, 2016.  Clinton police say Neff is considered a missing dependent adult with no history of leaving her home unexpectedly or running away.

“We’re taking this very seriously,” said Capt. Tom Bohle with the Clinton Police Department.

A flyer distributed throughout town and online says Neff has the mental capacity of a 12-year-old.

Bohle said she was last seen in the area of Walgreen’s pharmacy on 19th Avenue and Second Street in Clinton. She was last seen wearing sky blue colored or camo-colored pants and a gray or black shirt, the flyer says.  She has blond/brown streaked hair and blue eyes.

Bohle says the family has not heard from her since she was reported missing.

The flyer said that Neff has an iPod and a charger with her.

“The family has reason to believe she may be headed to Chicago,” reads a post on the Quad Cities Missing Persons Network Facebook page.  As of Wednesday, June 1 that post had been shared  more than 1,500 times.

A Facebook page has been created as a part of the search.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Neff, flyers indicate that you can call the Clinton Police Department at 563-243-1458.

Bohle said the photo in the flyer was taken in the fall of 2015, and anyone with a more recent photo of Neff is also asked to contact the department.
