Bedroom fire causes heavy damage to Clinton home

A fire at a Clinton, Iowa home was left with heavy damage.

Smoke was reported coming from the eves of a home  in the 1300 block of Harrison Drive, according to the Clinton Fire Department.   It was reported before 5 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016.

The fire started in a second-floor bedroom, the department’s statement said. There was nobody inside at the time.

The home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage, but the resident does have homeowners insurance, the statement said.

Ten firefighters responded to the scene with two engines. Camanche Fire and Clinton Police Departments provided mutual aid.

There were no reported injuries.
