BETTENDORF, Iowa — Cleanup is underway at the public library after a leak caused major water damage throughout the building.

The leak happened Friday, May 20, 2016 when a water pipe broke while workers were making repairs to a second-floor bathroom.   The second floor, along with a newly remodeled section of the first floor, were damaged.

Photos and video of the cleanup were shared from the weekend and Monday, May 23.

The cost to repair damages is approximately $1 million.

“Due to unsafe conditions, only essential personnel are allowed on site,” said public information officer Lauran Haldeman.
