Clinton special education teacher accused of inappropriate contact with student

CLINTON, Iowa – A middle school special education teacher is accused of having sexual contact with a 15-year-old student.

Christopher Nielsen, age 40, was arrested in Fulton, Illinois on Friday, May 20, 2016 according to a statement from Clinton Police Chief Kevin Gyrion.  Nielsen was held in the Whiteside County (Illinois) Jail until he waived extradition and was transferred to the Clinton County (Iowa) Jail Monday, May 23.

Nielsen was listed on the Clinton Middle School staff directory as a special education teacher.

Nielsen is charged with felony third-degree sexual abuse according to the Clinton County¬† Sheriff’s Office.

Nielsen was jailed in lieu of $20,000 cash-only bond.
