Two women died of injuries they suffered in a crash in McDonough County.

MCDONOUGH COUNTY, Illinois – Two women died of injuries they suffered in a crash in McDonough County.

Jean Danielson, 73, of Colchester, Illinois was driving a Buick LaCrosse southbound on McDonough County Road 600E when she stopped at a stop sign at Illinois Route 336; as she entered the intersection, Danielson entered the path of a westbound Ford Focus which then hit the driver’s side of Danielson’s car.

The collision was reported just after 3 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016.

Danielson, and 88-year-old Eilleen Rampley of Sutter, Illinois, were airlifted from the scene of the crash to a hospital in Quincy; state police later said both women died of their injuries.  Rampley was a passenger in the Ford Focus.

The 24-year-old driver of the Ford Focus, and two children – one from each vehicle involved – suffered minor injuries according to Illinois State Police.

No charges had been filed in connection with the crash as of Monday morning, May 23.
