MOLINE, Illinois — The iWireless Center may soon have a different name... again.

iWireless announced Thursday, April 21, that the company will not extend its sponsorship of the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois. The partnership will end in July 2017.

iWireless acquired naming rights and changed the venue's name from The Mark of the Quad Cities to the iWireless Center in 2005.

"iWireless is proud of our partnership with the Illinois Quad City Civic Center Authority and the iWireless Center, which enhanced our presence in the Quad Cities area during the past 10 years... We look forward to our remaining time as the sponsor of the iWireless Center," said Craven Shumaker, President and CEO of iWireless.

There's no word yet on what the building may be called after the partnership ends.

The iWireless Center currently hosts concerts and performing arts, banquets, weddings and sports activities such as the Quad City Mallards games.
