Man possibly in Keokuk after escaping from Burlington correctional facility

BURLINGTON, Iowa — Authorities were searching for a man that escaped from a Des Moines County correctional facility, according to Lee County Crime Stoppers.

Jaymes Anthony Stark, age 29, escaped from the Iowa Department of Corrections Men’s Residential Facility on Friday night, April 15, 2016, according to a post on the Crime Stoppers’ Facebook page.  The facility is located on Valley Street in Burlington, Iowa, which is about 40 miles from Keokuk, Iowa where he may be.

Jail records showed that he was still out of custody on Monday, April 18.

Stark was described as a black man standing 5-feet, 7-inches tall, and weighing 170 pounds.
