Search continues for driver in hit and run that injured Moline pedestrian

MOLINE, Illinois — Authorities are looking for the driver in a hit and run that injured a pedestrian.

A 31-year-old man was found unreponsive in the 1500 block of 40th Avenue, near Best Buy, around 8:50 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016, according to a statement from Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities. Witnesses reported hearing a “loud thud” outside around 8:40 p.m.

Crime Stoppers said the man had been walking in that area around that time.

“With no witnesses to the accident we are appealing to the public for help,” read the Crime Stoppers statement.  “Any information at this time would be helpful to Sheriff’s investigators.”  The statement noted that damage to the suspect vehicle could be on the passenger side and there may be broken glass.

The man who was hit remained hospitalized Friday, April 1.
