DAVENPORT, Iowa — A car crashed into a building while trying to avoid a collision with another vehicle, investigators say.

A driver headed northbound on Brady Street swerved out of the way when another vehicle came into their lane, according to a statement from Davenport Police. The swerving vehicle went out of control and crashed into a building at 1908 Brady Street around 7:40 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016.

The vehicle struck the south side of the building, leaving significant damage, police said.   The driver was not hurt.

Investigators determined that the vehicle that caused the other to swerve may have driven onto Brady Street while avoiding a westbound vehicle that was stopped nearby at the Locust Street intersection.

It was unclear if 1908 Brady Street was occupied at the time of the crash.
