Two armed robberies 5 miles apart reported In Davenport within 90 minutes of each other

In less than an hour-and-a-half, two armed robberies were reported at Davenport, Iowa gas stations about five miles apart on Monday, March 28, 2016.

The first one happened around 12:15 a.m. at Mother Hubbard’s on Hickory Grove Road, according to a statement from Davenport Police. The robber reportedly went into the gas station with a handgun, demanded money, and made off with some cash.

Police say the robber was described as a male with a small build standing between 5-feet, 6-inches tall and 5-feet, 8-inches tall.

The second robbery happened around 1:30 a.m. at the Kwik Shop on East 12th Street, the statement said.  Again, the robber reportedly came in with a gun, demanded money, and got away with cash.

The robber was described as a white male standing between 5-feet, 3-inches and 5-feet, 8-inches and weighing about 150 pounds, according to police.

Nobody was injured in either instance.
