A statewide tornado drill in Iowa was delayed one day because of the possible threat of severe weather.

The drill, originally set for Wednesday morning, March 23, 2016, was moved to Thursday, March 24 at 10 a.m., according to Be Ready Iowa.

According to the National Weather Service, at 10:20 a.m. the tornado warning siren would be tested in the Quad Cities.

This drill comes roughly one week after tornadoes tore through the Quad Cities area, the state of Iowa was set to have its yearly tornado drill.

Thunderstorms pushing through the state has put the Quad Cities in a low-risk area for getting some of it.  StormTrack 8 Meteorologist Eric Sorensen said the QC could see thunderstorms, quarter-sized hail, and some brief gusty wind, but that they would not be as intense as the storms on Tuesday, March 15.
