KNOX COUNTY, Illinois — Jeremy Karlin announced Thursday, March 17 that he concedes the Knox County State’s Attorney election.

Falling behind in the voting results, Karlin said he would rather concede the election than wait weeks for mail in ballots to be collected and counted.

“I have met so many people on this campaign and despite the result, my run for office was an extraordinarily rewarding experience and I am a better man for it,” said Karlin in his email to supporters.

Karlin congratulated John Pepmeyer and said he intends to remain in politics and support Democratic candidates.

“I also look forward to some quality time on my bicycle to work off the pounds gained by attending nearly a year’s worth of pancake breakfasts and chicken dinners throughout the county,” Karlin said.
