Rock Island teen charged in connection with shooting of Davenport girl

A 15-year-old boy was charged in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old girl in a Davenport, Iowa intersection.

The girl, from Davenport, was shot around 9:40 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016, according to a statement from the Davenport Police Department.  The shooting happened near the area of Clark and Central Park Avenue, west of Hickory Grove Road; she was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police announced Tuesday evening that a 15-year-old from Rock Island was charged with attempted murder in connection with the shooting.

The incident remained under investigation.
