The Hilltop Campus Village is celebrating Valentine's Day weekend with deals and dinners.
It's the second year for the event, Cupid Comes to the Hilltop. After the tough fall season with the Harrison Street construction, the Hilltop businesses are hoping to make a comeback this weekend.
About a dozen different merchants are participating in this year's festivities, many of them spanning all month long.
Organizers hope by promoting the Hilltop Campus District as a whole, more people will be interested in shopping in the area.
"We need to highlight the Hilltop Campus Village as an entity and we need to come up with different ways to showcase all of the different variety that there is in the area," said Scott Tunnicliff, Director of the Hilltop Campus Village. "We want more people waking up in the morning and saying, 'You know, I heard that there was something going on at some of the stores here. Why don't we make a morning, an afternoon, a day, of seeing what's available along that hilltop?'"

Greatest Grains Sweetheart Dinner
Greatest Grains hosts their third Sweetheart Dinner, Saturday, February 13th, at 1600 Harrison Street, the Greatest Grains Event Center. Seating at 6:30 p.m., live music until 9:00 p.m. BYOB. Cost is $75 per couple. Call (563) 323-7521 for reservations or more information.
Sweets for the sweet, from East Side Bakery
Stop into the East Side Bakery and find out what delicious delectables Nikki has whipped up for February. Order breakfast pastries to pick up on Saturday and have them for a Valentine brunch.
