Beginning March 19, the majority of Target stores will roll out the new line of Caroline’s Carts. The red carts are modified in order for shoppers to accommodate older children or adults with special needs without having to maneuver both a cart and a wheelchair.

The statement on Target’s website says the carts have been in use since February of 2015 and due to customer requests, the carts will be made available in most stores nationwide. The number of Caroline’s Carts available in each store will depend upon store size and guests’ needs.

A Target employee raising a special needs child originally suggested the idea.

“Caroline’s Cart can be a game-changer for families, and we’re excited to offer this for our guests across the country,” said Juan Galarraga, senior vice president, Store Operations.
