CHESTER, Ill. (AP) — The southern Illinois murder-for-hire trial of former suburban Chicago police officer Drew Peterson has again been postponed.

A Randolph County judge on Monday agreed to push the trial’s February 29 start to May 20. The trial was previously set to begin in November 2015.

The ex-Bolingbrook sergeant is charged with soliciting an inmate to kill Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow, who prosecuted the 2012 murder case against Peterson.

Peterson was sentenced to 38 years in prison for the bathtub drowning death of ex-wife Kathleen Savio.

Peterson is challenging wiretap evidence he says was improperly obtained by prosecutors. Peterson contends a Will County judge first met with a jailhouse informant before considering the request to secretly record him.
