It started out as a dream five years ago in a recording studio in Rock Island, and now, Sean Moeller is set to see that dream of a bigger space for Daytrotter become a reality.

The new Davenport venue and recording studio will be opening up with a live concert Monday night.

"All the big pieces are in place. The bands will be here, I know the sound system is in, our beer got delivered. It`s just kind of the little things now," Daytrotter owner Sean Moeller said.

Bands have been able to record in their new studio since October, but the rest of the venue has slowly come together for a grand opening Moeller admits is a bit rushed.

"We`re just really excited to open this up and we didn`t want to wait any longer. So, we kind of hustled together a show, and I think it`s a really good first one," Moeller said.

He's anxious to make Daytrotter an even bigger name in the Quad Cities music scene, and he believes they'll be able to help bring in even more performers to all the other live music venues.

"I think it`s going to prop everything up. This place is right on the cusp of being one of the best music towns in the country," Moeller said.

The bands that have recorded in the Davenport studio already have had nothing but praise about the new space, and it`s only a matter of days before they take the stage at Daytrotter, and the fans can experience the new venue for themselves.

"I think it`s going to be really fun to see everyone gather together, and once the music starts, that gets fun, too," Moeller said.

Tickets are still available for the grand opening concert Monday night at 6:00 p.m.

There are also single-day tickets available for the Daytrotter Downs music festival in February.
