Two people were displaced after a fire engulfed a Davenport apartment building.

The fire was in the 300 block of Marquette Street on Tuesday, December 29, 2015.  The building at one point was engulfed in flames and smoke.

"We knocked down the main fire in a couple of minutes," said District Chief Mike Carlsen, with the Davenport Fire Department. "It did take us several minutes longer to get to the fire. It got inside the walls and some of the hidden spots. We worked to get those hot spots knocked down."

There was no word on what caused the fire.
