Too much rain in such a short period of time. The Meramec River near St. Louis is at flood levels never before seen! According to our Tribune affiliate, KTVI-TV, Interstate 55 is shut down completely south of St. Louis due to the flooding. As the death toll rises, the river levels may not. Crests are expected in the next 24 hours. And as everyone searches for a break, Mother Nature will come through.

There will be no rain in hard-hit Missouri and Central Illinois for about a week!
