Iowa Hawkeyes win traditional Beef Bowl ahead of Rose Bowl

Ahead of the much anticipated Rose Bowl game between Stanford and Iowa, the two teams took part in a different competition.

It is tradition known as the Beef Bowl.  Before the Rose Bowl the competing teams dine at Lawry's in Beverly Hills to see how much meat they can consume, according to a report by the Stanford Daily. 

The two teams dined separately at he restaurant, which is known for "The Prime Rib;" Iowa on Sunday, December 27, and Stanford on Monday, December 28.

Lawry's posted the results to their Facebook page on Tuesday, the winner - Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Rose Bowl was set for Friday, January 1 at 4 p.m. CST in Pasadena, California on ESPN.
