Patches of I-80 traffic impacted by winter storm

Interstate 80 in Iowa has been hit with some “critical disruptions,” according to the Iowa Department of Transportation.

The eastbound lanes were blocked from a semi that was jacknifed, and the westbound lanes were blocked out near West Branch. A third disruption was reported west of Des Moines.

The jacknifed semi in Walcott was between County Road Y30 and County Road Y40, Exits 280 and 284, according to Iowa DOT. It was reported at 12:20 p.m. By 12:46 p.m. the roadway was reopened to drivers.

The disruption near West Branch was clear just before 2 p.m.
